Honest Screw

Wake up next to you, honest screw. Because you always go too far. So, you slip slowly out, to sit in the next room And eat your breakfast in the dark. It won’t feed your cold and lonely heart Hush, hush before you say Something you can’t take away. You step out for a cigarette, You wait and you watch and you try to forget, How the world doesn’t need you around. You’re helplessly hollow And you’re feeling the sting. You’ve always had your doubts. Last night’s naked kisses mock you over your shoulder They light you up, then they blow you out. Then they kill you without a sound. Hush, hush before you say Something you can’t take away. You step out for a cigarette, You wait and you watch and you try to forget, How the world doesn’t need you around. Hush, hush before you say Something you can’t take away.
