Enormous Wings

Written by mark linkous & susanna hoffs Produced by matt wallace & jack joseph puig Released on 'susanna hoffs' (1996) There once was a very old man Who had enormous wings There once was a very old man Who had enormous wings. They say he saw the world Through the eyes of a blue dog (there once was a very old man Who had enormous wings) There once was a man Who had enormous wings. It was sad The rain had knocked him down People came to see from all around He was lyin' there. He was lyin' there. His dreams are forever (there once was a very old man) Entangled in the mud (who had enormous wings) He's an angel (his dreams were forever) Tangled in the mud (entangled in the mud). Every soul you meet (there once was a very old man) May be a stranger (who had enormous wings) He's an angel (he's an angel) He must be coming for the children (he's coming for the children). It was sad The rain had knocked him down People came to see from all around He was lyin' there. And though he'd like to sleep The stars fall to the earth in heaps And he's got tears in his eyes 'cause the town is filled with so many spies They all avert their eyes. The rain had knocked him down People came to see from all around He was lyin' there. It was sad The rain had knocked him down He was lyin' there. They say he saw the world Through the eyes of a blue dog (there once was a very old man Who had enormous wings) He's an angel (he's an angel) Who had enormous wings. There once was a very old man Who had enormous wings.
