Always Believed In You

I was born in the southland, down There in Texas USA I was never supposed to know a moment Of unhappiness in my life Somehow it didn't work out that way I was born back in the sixties I was born and raised to win We had beaten down the darkness Somehow the darkness slipped back in If I ever get to heaven, which I hope I'm gonna do They'll say, "How did you know," I'll just say, "I knew" I always believed in you I went looking for a lover But I didn't know the rules I made six wrong turns and nearly died But the 7th time you know I made it through I went looking for the answers I wanted nothing but truth I went driving towards a light at a Hundred miles an hour But I was running low on proof If I ever get to heaven, which I hope I'm gonna do They'll say, "How did you know," I'll just say, "I knew" I always believed in you Gonna walk right up to the bossman'I'm gonna say I couldn't believe the scene down there It was kinda like livin' in a dream sown there There wasn't too much to believe In down there But believe it or not I always believed in you If I ever get to heaven Which I hope I'm gonna do And they say, "How did it go," I'll say "I made it through" I always believed in you I couldn't believe the scene down there It was kinda like linin' in a dream down there Couldn't believe much of anything down there But believe it or not I always believed in you
