Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal was born on 17 May 1942 in Harlem, New York. His birth name was Henry Saint Clair Fredericks. His is also called taj-mahal.

Henry Saint Clair Fredericks,who goes by the stage name Taj Mahal, is an internationally recognized blues musician with two Grammy Awards to date who folds various forms of world music into his offerings. A self-taught singer-songwriter and film composer who plays the guitar, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments).

Taj Mahal released the following albums including Giant Step (1989), Mo' Roots (1992), Dancing the Blues (1993), Phantom Blues (1996), Senor Blues (1997), In Progress & In Motion: 1965-1998 (1998), The Real Thing (2000), The Natch'l Blues (2000), The Best Of Taj Mahal (2000), Taj Mahal (2000), Giant Step/De Ole Folks at Home (2003), Blues With a Feeling: The Very Best of Taj Mahal (2003) and The Essential Taj Mahal (2005).
